Posting news articles - Jamaica Talk

From time to time we come across interesting articles which we want to share on the board. In doing so, the following guidelines are good to follow:

1. Post a link or reference to the source of the article. This gives credit where credit is due, and it allows people to check the information out for themselves if they desire.

2. Don't post the entire article, post an extract and the link to it. This allows the source website to benefit from the site traffic (since they created the content) and reduces the likelihood of messy copyright infringement issues that may arise.

One thing I do agree with you on IS ... when people post "NEWS" they shoudl put an article with it!!!

Being online, it's easy to copy and paste stuff, and not many of us realise the implications of this. I came across some article discussing such things:

Yes it is a good idea, to protect the person and pagerism. Always post the link of the source. I don't see a problem with posting the whole article, some people's connection is slow and cannot open all the other links in a post...however, posting the LINK to the site where we cited the information is important.
