Hello everyone. My name is Rolando and I am searching for the Jamaican side of my family. My grandfather Nathaniel Markland was a Jamaican who went to work in Ecuador in the 1930's. He had two sons in Ecuador one of which is my father. Nathaniel returned to Jamaica and contact was apparently lost. i heard of that name b4 but a cant put a phase to it. actually where in jamaica did your family used to live. which parish?maybe that will give me an idea.

Thank you for your reply. I am not exactly sure where they originate from. However, someone said that there was a Markland family from St. Andrew. Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Well the Markland I knew of was a slender, black Jamaican man who was the DJ..MC on Love FM radio in Jamaica in the early 90s. I can't remeber his first name.

Last heard of him getting married and going to England.
