Hi! I'm African-American but I've lived in New York for quite some time and if any of you have lived in New York for some time, you know that Jamaicans have taken over that city. I've recently returned to Chicago and I feel a bit empty. The foods I've come to love are all Jamaican and I can't seem to find those dishes as readily at my current location. I've travelled to Jamaica twice this year, mainly staying in Negril. I would love to converse with a Jamaican who lives in Chicago or who has lived in this city so that I can share my experiences and have a friend who reminds me of what I've become accustomed to over the years.

I know what you mean about NY....my ex lived in the BX and sometimes I would feel like everyone there was Jamaican....like I fell asleep at the wheel and woke up in Kingston.....lol
