Son's HS varsity lacrosse team has their opening game of the season this evening, then they'll be in Miami all next week for their spring break tourney. Before each game, they have a team dinner at a local restaurant (Glory Days Sports Bar & Grill). I'm treating myself to a day off today, but I volunteered to help out with the dinner this afternoon--filling glasses, working the serving line, that sort of thing. I also volunteered to help out at the concession stand at the girls varsity LAX game before the boys game, but they said they got that covered.

They always do it right around Spring break don't they?

Lacrosse is an awesome sport!

Forgive me for boasting, but I got bragging rights.

Son's team, the Radford Highlanders, kicked ass in the lacrosse tournament in Richmond yesterday. Only three teams competing--Virginia Commonwealth University, University of Richmond, and Radford University--with each team playing two games, but still a long day. Radford won the tournament, trouncing Univ of Richmond 9-4 in their first game (VCU had beaten Univ of Richmond in the first game of the tournament) and coming from behind 4-1 in the fourth quarter to beat VCU 5-4 and capture the tournament title.
They return to Richmond next weekend for a big tournament (at University of Richmond), with 10-15 teams competing and playing four games each. That's gonna be one long day!

Sat next to a lacrosse mom who had sons on both the VCU and Univ of Richmond teams yesterday and flirted it up with her. Maybe I'll see her again next Saturday.
