You cannot judge everything by TV. First of all, in baseball, those announcers are usually so stupid, you want to throw the tv out the window.

1. The poll doesn't ask: "Is TV a good representation of the enjoyment derived from watching baseball live" ...it ONLY refers to the TV broadcasts of games. If that isn't representative of the sport, sorry... but it's still clogging up the TV so people must be watching it.

2. Yes, I went to see a game. Oakland vs. Toronto. It was as boring as it is on TV, with the advantage that you didn't have to hear the announcer or actually see what they were spitting on the ground, but with the disadvantage that you have no close-ups to allow you to confirm that the players are indeed still alive.

LOL... I should have known better than to answer your question. I should have posted "blah blah blahblah blah blah blah blah blahblah blah blah" and I would have seen the same intelligent response.

I guess it's as good as "I know you are but what am I." I use that one when I can't think of anything relevant to say.

My problem, Urban, is the environment I live in. It's more of a if you lived here, you would understand. St. Louis is a baseball town. You grow up on baseball. It's everywhere. The city starts buzzing in January when pitchers and catchers report to spring training and it doesn't let up until after the World Series. You hear tv's and radios playing the game all summer long. Sometimes everything stops for games. Your parents and grandparents would have these wonderful stories of other stadiums and players in their life time. It's so engrained in my life. Baseball is just another part of the definition of who I am. I just don't understand anyone who doesn't feel the same way. I love the game. Always have. Have wonderful childhood memories of summer nights at the ballpark. It's just something I am so used to that I cannot picture life without baseball.

So, for someone to hate it, is just a foreign concept to me. Can't even fathom it. I can almost picture alien life forms over the whole idea!

LOL... don't worry. You're allowed to like baseball. Some people like CSI and I can't possibly fathom why. Hell, come to think of it--I've had requests for Paris Hilton at a party I was DJing. (only one... ONCE, mind you, lol).
