Skateboarding - Jamaica Talk

Does anyone in Jamaica skateboard? If not, how come? I'm just curious.

I don't think so JC, and I think the reason is that they are far too sensible to hurtle down the street balanced on a piece of wood.
A friend of mine has a son who is into skateboarding. One night after WAAAY too much Wray & Nephew, the assembled company decided to convince the very drunk and therefore very suggestible yours truly that it would be a good idea to skateboard down their street in a state of "au naturelle." The outcome of this venture is left to your imagination. needless to say I have never been anywhere near a skateboard since and only a very priviliged (or unfortunate) few have ever seen the scars.

Yet they will hurtle down an ice track at 150 km/hr in a fibreglass shell that could overturn at any time endangering their exposed heads.

I used to skateboard. I only remember being rushed to the hospital and some brain surgeon telling me I should never skate again....something about severe brain damage. Nothing serious. I think some people do but not many places with an open smooth surface and the road is too rough.

LOL I remember creating this thread! I was asking the question because at the time my son was into competitive skateboarding. I always wondered if kids in JA did it.

I want to get one of those boogie boards with knee straps and have it pulled around by a truck. Saw it in some Terri Clarke video.

Not a skateboarder anymore.
