I thought a frock was those overdresses they used to wear back in the day... kind of like a long coat with a flared skirt to it... and actually men did wear them too.

"Frock" (often pronounced like "frack" in patois) is a general term for women's clothing.
"Man nuh wear gal frack" = "Men do not wear women's apparel"
