Thanks for the lessons ETJ!!!

Just wanted to say thanks to ETJ for the last 3 years of Patwah lessons!! LOL...if I wasn't a member of this board and was reading the book I'm currently reading I'd NEVER understand it!!!!

Just all the slang, grammar, and everyting else Jamaican I've learned here is helping me appreciate this book all the more.

I wonder if a regular person would know what a "Duppy" is???

Actually John Crow is mentioned a number of times in the book but they don't actually say what it is.

Yah well thanks for explaining it.....so what is it? It was used in the context that when the Jamaicans were in England for the war, when they fell subject to racism they always said there ain't no John Crow here.
