Re: White boy what yall think?
So wanttobe Rastas need to first come here to ask for blessings?
It's funny how white Rastas are accepted by non white Rastas but now they need the blessing from internet experts.....funny, I don't see a line forming on ETJ for these blessings. Maybe we should dictate who should be a Christian while we are at it.
EDIT; Or maybe we should let people believe in what they want to believe in........

Re: White boy what yall think?
No one has to come to ETJ or STAY ON ANY "OTHER" site to be accepted, rejected, approved, blessed NOR CURSED for anything by ANYONE ELSE. Regardless of the diversities in ethnicity, genre or general interest on individual ALL sites, they ALL have one thing in common...Opinions; and we all know what they say about opinion. One person's acceptance or rejection of someone else's faith Rasta, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, whatever) does nothing to validate or invalidate the other persons sincere devotion to whatever faith they choose.
...Opinions are opinions are opinions are opinions.......

Its because meanwhile while certain people throw out there opinions Eco they belittle people at the same time. They don't throw out a proper opinion.
They diss people on what they know, when they don't even know us, how we were raised, how we are in person, how we interact in the real life, and last but not least they don't know our faith. No one but ourselves can know that.
No one has to prove there faith to anyone.

Tank Yu Sistah.
I mean...What gives?
What other subject has been more harrased, rediculed and criticized here more than Christians (real or imagined), Christianity and the Bible (authentic or "crap-tentic")?
Even the very creation of a Christian thread has been met with marked criticism such as being "too frequent" and "threatens to turn ETJ into EVERYTHINGCHRISTIAN", so to speak.
Every mention of Jesus and Christianity has been met with pot-shots like ducks in a shooting gallery at the County Fair. How many times have we seen "non-believers" speaking out in defense of Christianity or attempting in anyway to "validate" our religious point of view?
White Rasta, Fake Christians, Doctored Bible, Blind leading the Blind...They are all the same: food for thought. And like food, once absorbed and digested, it takes on a most undesired form that no one readily clings to. Pun intended.
Hope yu'all have a great day.

When does someones race play a factor in what they can believe in?
Can people of more than one race only believe in a certain percentage of a belief?
Do "caucasion" only sites really exist? If so can I go if I'm not 100% Caucasian? Will these sites let me know who I can accept as my god and in what ways I should worship him/her?
What does this mean to you "Out of Many, One People" ?
One Love

Re: White boy what yall think?
As Muta so accurately puts it, (paraphrased)...although anyone over the world can "connect" (as in, relating to it), it is not something to "get into".
He clearly defines that rastafari is "a Black Power movement with a spiritual nucleus". He further goes on to say that it was founded out of oppresson that was meted out to Black people who came as AFRICANS and were enslaved". He follwed up by citing that the spirituality of Rastafari is not unique to rastafari.
So then, based on the notion of this world reknown and celebrated Jamaican Rastafrian poet and laureate, whose opinion mirrors mine as well as many others .....
At the risk of seeming overly prejudiced...How then can a White person truly BE a rastafari?????

Re: White boy what yall think?
So an interview with a food critic is Gospel now?
That's the best example of MUTABARUKA's work that you can find to support the SUGGESTION that a white boy on a skate board in CA might not be accepted. IMO, work harder, it's 2pm on a Friday, the work week ends in 3 hours. :-)
BTW, Alex I have read your views on this now 3 times on ETJ and it has not changed and I respect that and your opinion. If you were a Rasta I would respect it more, until then it is like a Jew telling me that I can not be a Christian. While I have no plans of joining what was or what is currently a black power movement, I find it silly that anyone in today's world is still telling others what they can and can't do based on their race (not speaking to you directly).
If a white person wants to be a Rasta and is accepted by other Rastas why would it be any of OUR non Rasta business?
MUTABARUKA.........I've been listening to him on and off for the past few months, if he toured in a city close to me I would see him.....food for thought.
