I'm just elated that you could glean such inisght from it all but am a little surprised that you found the whole revelation peculiar.

Almost all the people that were used by God, as depicted throughout the Bible were either people of humble beginnings, questionable repute, or individuals who have failed in some way, shape or form. If God can use the Devil himself in his attack on Job, to show his eternal love and faithfulness to mankind, what and who wont he use?

Satan is symbolic for the dark side of our human nature. It exist nowhere else but inside us.

Just as you seek to have a personal relationship with Jesus, you were born with the relationship to your dark side already built in. The struggle in life is to overcome one consciousness for another. Both are you, but the proportions are out of balance.

The eternal struggle between good and evil as depicted in the bible is also symbolic of people just trying to make the right decision in life.

One learns by doing. One should bring a box of bandaides.

It is peculiar in that I never thought of anyone in the bible of being as "bad" as me... but the more I learn the more I realize they were... it makes it much easier when it is put in 20th century terms for me...

As for the Devil... I don't really see him as a person.

Moses was a murder.
David was an adulterer.
Abraham was a liar.
Solomon was a pagan worshipper.
Matthew was a tax collector.
Paul/Saul was a christian persecutor....To name a few.
