Was Jesus Gay?
This question is not meant to cause offence, if I have offended you I ask your forgivenness
I ask this question of Jesus as it is now established that King David was Gay or at least bi
SUBMITTED FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION
In the Gospel of John, the disciple John frequently refers to himself in the third person as 'the disciple whom Jesus loved'." One might argue that Jesus loved all of his followers in a non-sexual way. Thus to identify Jesus' love for John in a special way might indicate a sexual relationship. The disciple was "the" beloved. He was in a class by himself.
During the Last Supper before Jesus' execution, the author(s) of the Gospel of John describes how the "beloved" disciple laid himself on Jesus' breast -- (to me signifies a loving embrace of intimacy). See John 13:25 and 21:20. "... eat together, side by side. What's being portrayed here is a pederastic relationship between an older man and a younger man. A Greek reader would understand.".
The Gospel references to "the disciple whom Jesus loved" use the word "agape." Whether the authors originally used "eros" and the word was subsequently changed is open to speculation.
"In the Book of John a word is used eight times that means 'is in love with' with the implication of sexual intimacy. Five times it is used with reference to Jesus' relationship with John. Once it is used to define Jesus' relationship with Lazarus. And it is also used to describe his relationship with Mary and with her sister Martha."
During the crucifixion, in John 19:26-28, Jesus is described as seeing his mother and an unidentified man: "the disciple standing by, whom he loved." Again, Jesus probably loved all of his 12 or 70 disciples in a non-sexual manner. But this particular disciple is identified as "the" disciple who Jesus loved". That might indicate a special intimate relationship with one special disciple.
A fragment of a manuscript which at the Mar Saba monastery near Jerusalem. It contained the full text of Mark, chapter 10.
"And the youth, looking upon him (Jesus), loved him and beseeched that he might remain with him. And going out of the tomb, they went into the house of the youth, for he was rich. And after six days, Jesus instructed him and, at evening, the youth came to him wearing a linen cloth over his naked body. And he remained with him that night, for Jesus taught him the mystery of the Kingdom of God".
Apparently the version that is in the Christian Scriptures is an edited version of the original. Additional verses allegedly formed part of the full version of Mark, and were inserted after verse 34. It discusses how a young man, naked but for a linen covering(the dress of a catamite), expressed his love for Jesus and stayed with him at his place all night.
Mark 7:14-16 Can be construed that Jesus approves of homosexual acts. The critical phrase reads: "There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him...(poetic licence...literal interpretation)
Mark 14:51-52 describes the incident when Jesus was arrested by the religious police. It describes how one of Jesus' followers was scantily dressed. When the police tried to seize him, they were able to grab only his cloth; the man ran away naked. Who was this scantily dress lad?
Matthew 8:5-13: and Luke 7:2: "One day a Roman Centurion asked him to heal his dying servant. Scholars of both Scripture and Ancient History tell us that Roman Centurions, who were not permitted to marry while in service, regularly chose a favorite male slave to be their personal assistant and sexual servant. Such liaisons were common in the Greco-Roman world and it was not unusual for them to deepen into loving partnerships....Jesus offered to go to the servant, but the centurion asked him simply to speak a word of healing, since he was not worthy to welcome this itinerant Jewish teacher under his roof. Jesus responded by healing the servant and proclaiming that even in Israel he had never found faith like this! So, in the one Gospel story where Jesus encountered people sharing what we would call a 'gay relationship,' we see him simply concerned about — and deeply moved by — their faith and love." Jesus' sensitivity towards the gay couple might have arisen from his own homosexuality.
Note that there is no passage in the New Testament that directly describes anything about Jesus' sexuality. There are many direct and indirect references to Jesus' sensuality. He was accused of being a "drunkard and a glutton" and of partying with "prostitutes and sinners." He apparently enjoyed a tender foot massage from a woman. Yet, neither Jesus' sexuality nor his celibacy is mentioned. Yet, sex is referred to, elsewhere in the Bible, quite often. One might argue that the books in the books might have once described Jesus' sexual relationships, but that these passages have been censored by the church because they were unconventional.
John 13 relates how Jesus washes the feet of his disciples, a jesture of sensuality and humility. It is a demonstration of role reversal. This humility is synonymous To "humbling a man" to socially render a male less of a man or sodomize him or "humbling a woman " by rape.
Jesus is silent towards homosexuality in the Gospels.
Paul's opinions and those of many other authors in the Scriptures are clearly stated. "Is it meaningful that, in the Sermon on the Mount, central to his teaching, he offered a one-way trip to the Kingdom of God, to anyone who is persecuted? (homosexuals are often among those persecuted by society)
Could Jesus have been Gay or bi(engage in homosexual love)?

Re: Was Jesus Gay?
I'm here to shew away the crickets.
An advanced seeker, known as an "adept", is disassociated from the animal instincts within them. They're still there, but it's like a long distance call with a bad connection.
Because celibacy occurs naturally in these people, the outside world only sees a bunch of single males and a teacher of sorts. Because they're still plugged into the carnal mind, their observation of these single men will take on that color. They "look" gay.
The nature of a master/disciple relationship isn't well understood in the western world.
In yoga, the sexual energy is rechanneled into spiritual propulsion.

Does being gay exclude one from becoming or being an adept
The scriptures question (belie) that fact, as he was accused of fraternizing with prostitutes and being a drunkard.

Their is nothing natural about celibacy...
Yes observation can be misleading but it is one of the ways to truth.

It often includes homosexual love(pederasty)

The highest and oldest form of yoga is tantraism which is all about sex and the indulgence there of.

Re: Was Jesus Gay?
An adept still has worldly pull but that power has been diminished. Your personal priorities have reorganized themselves putting them lower on the totem pole. You're horny for God now. Nothing else will satisfy.
Free will is never compromised. You can still play if you have the cash for the karma you'll generate by doing so. You just have a wider sense of things and the decisions that come from that wider perception allow for a more refined decision. Impulse is put on a short leash.
You become "moral".
Not by religious adherance to some law, but by an ever expanding sense of compassion.
When you feel all of creation as your self, the desire to harm any of it leaves you. You still have a human head stuck in this world. It requires a certain amount of feeding. Just watch the price tags on stuff here.
Make sure you don't spend any karma on stuff you can't afford.

TRUE.
But what is God?....... if not the people places and things you come in contact with through life?

Whatever you do Karma is generated.....using a leash is indulging in repression.
Are you saying gay love is immoral?
Morality is a social prejudice subject to TIME and PLACE - CULTURE

We are in accord
Compassion is ACCEPTANCE.....The first born(form) of LOVE

And celibacy is not?

If it be love, how can it be un-affordable?

Re: Was Jesus Gay?
Love and lust are twin sisters to most people. To tell the two apart requires a closer obsevation. Most people are unwilling to invest the time.
Humans do not know true love yet. They are deeply attached to their human identities and are unable to rise above that for the most part. Their "love" is limited because their range of perception is limited.
To walk with God, is to have an expanded awareness that radiates outward from you like the light from a great torch. You see beyond self and individuality. For a few moments, you are immersed in the totality that you came from.
And belong to.
The idea is to have that awareness and still lead a life in the human world.

It is understood that Jesus loved all his disciples, but it seems he had a special love for one.... for which the scriptures made a distinction

I would qualify that with most humans... the rest of your statement is true.
Is the love between a man and a woman "limited" because Lust may have been involved?

By "immersed" could you mean ACCEPTANCE of the "Totality" that includes all BEINGS and THINGS

|
Does that mean that gay love is always lustful?
