Hindus, and several other faiths believe that judgement day comes at the end of each life, rather than just the one.

The "Lord" is your higher self. Karma keeps a scorecard of your actions while here. A very exact one.

At the end of the earthly life of your lower self (that part of you which is the actor behind the human mask) an accounting occurs to determine what your next life will be shaped as. Both the higher and lower self agree to this "judgement" and the lower self returns to the earthly plane.

If you've been naughty, the future life will have opportunities embedded in it to pay this negative account down. Most will just continue to increase the size of the debt.

It can take many lifetimes to get the scales to balance, and then true spiritual progress can be made.

He who dies with no toys, wins.

I'd tell him I took a dump yesterday.

I guess my only major accomplishment was sticking with my son all these years. I think that's good enough to secure my way thru the pearly gates.
