Re: Me and Joel Osteen

He's a money changer in the temple. Period. And he will meet that same fate.

He believes in what he does, that much is evident, but the spiritual message is weak. People who are spiritually weak themselves will be unable to tell the difference. Just about every single person you see in that huge audience qualifies.

He reminds me very much of the Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and his attraction to the things of the world. The rich man's guru.

What would Jesus do?

Not what Joel Osteen does.

Re: Me and Joel Osteen

One of my friends dragged me to Joel Osteens church one morning a couple years ago. The church had a cool waterfall near the altar and I thought his wife was gorgeous. His message was lame and I fell asleep for more than half of it and wondered how much oil would have been saved if everyone stayed home instead of going to church on Sunday. Church is really bad for the environment if you think of it.

Thats pretty hard to do when the worship service resembles a circus. These big time churches are nothing but a sensory overload. It will be hard to find your center when so many things are calling your senses out and into the world.

There are many decievers who wear the robes of religion.

This, is what I'm trying to call attention to here.

Re: Me and Joel Osteen

I loved his message this weekend about being a prisoner of Hope....staying in faith through the most difficult times because you are closer than you think to God's promise being fullfilled in your life...can't think of when i might have needed to hear that message more than when i heard it Sunday!
