Woman VP - Smart move or What?

Ignore his politics for a moment...
Whether he wins or loses....

Do you think that by making a woman his running mate...

This was a strategically smart move?
It would/wouldn't make a difference to his voters?
Was he trying to play up to the sentiments of women and minority voters?

Re: Woman VP - Smart move or What?

Well, IMO, that's ALL they ever do is try and play up something or another.

Again, IMO, it's inevitable that we will one day see a woman in the white house as VP or Prez.

Re: Woman VP - Smart move or What?

She's just a female version of him... conservative, pro-life, anti-taxes for the wealthy... The fact that she's a woman is more of political strategy than anything meaningful like Hilary's candidacy. If she was as qualified as Hilary, I'd say it was a great thing. But by her own admission, she called herself a long-shot, an unlikely choice at this time...

What "safer" VP to have than one who espouses the same politics?

Yep.

Though, I hardly think that he needs to use this lady to gravitate to the Oval Office.
He's either gonna win hands down; or not at all.

Re: Woman VP - Smart move or What?

but to answer the questionn. it was most def a smart political move for all of the ppl dem (voters) who want to see a woman in the hightest official position this governmemt has to offer. this way...he kinda invalidates Obamas "making history" campaign...he tooo can offer some history making now....by having a woman as his running mate. I dont know how well this will fly with white male america though.

Re: Woman VP - Smart move or What?

I question how she will have the time to run the counrty and deal with a 5 months old special needs child
I have a healthy two year old child and i have a hard time running the "stewart house" let alone the damn WHITE HOUSE

I kno wowmen multi-taks and are strong, but I would want to devote as mcuh time and attntion to my child during these early years, ESPECIALLY as special needs child, but that's JMO

This has already been done... Geraldine Ferraro beat her to this distinction...

... isn't this basically the same mentality that was so insulting when used toward black people when they assumed that all black people would vote for Obama just because he is black? I personally find it an insult to think that just because the people who wanted Hilary to be president/vp would vote for her, it was because she was a woman. She and Sarah Palin are TOTALLY different in terms of what they stand for. I don't know... it just feels totally contrived to me. It's like saying, "I don't really care what your qualifications are, as long as you are a woman"-- it devalues the person's accomplishments and experiences... Just like it did when they tried to reduce Obama's supporters to the same...
