I forgive you.
I forgive you
I understand that in this life
Of bitterness, envy and strife,
That sometimes people go astray,
And hurt other people to have their way.
Everybody falls down sometime,
Everyone is guilty of some crime.
Those facts doen't ease the hurt or pain,
But it is worse to hold on and complain.
I chose to let it go.
No festering for me.
I won't live my life in agony.
I forgive you.
For you, and me.
I hope you'll change,
But if you don't, I'm still free.
Your motivations are still a mystery.
I don't know why you keep chosing misery.
People should learn some things from history.
Hatred will only leave you blistery.
At the time, you may feel justified,
But in the end, you only look undignified.
What is the point that you're trying to prove?
Are you that desperate for someone to approve?
I chose to let it go.
No festering for me.
I won't live my life in agony.
I forgive you.
For you, and me.
I hope you'll change,
But if you don't, I'm still free.
Bitterness is a dead end street.
Misery and company roll well deep.
Mind how yuh follow people like a sheep.
They may lead you to a point where yuh haffi start weep.
Watch the example weh yuh kids dem a keep.
I'll pray for you still, 'cause God, Him naw sleep.
When you call His name, make sure you're humble and meek.
She who exalteth herself shall fall to the bottom of the heap.
I chose to let it go.
No festering for me.
I won't live my life in agony.
I forgive you.
For you, and me.
I hope you'll change,
But if you don't, I'm still free.
