Can't live without our color( By Tonguetwistnu)
I found this on a poetry website Twist is on. Since everyone is on the topic, I guess I shared this with all!
I give you pieces,
and leave you with PEACES!
Black ties and tuxedos, you wear them.
black cars, you drive them.
Onyx in their rings, you flash them.
Tar is black, can't avoid it.
So is a brunette, hair, you love it.
black electronics, play it,
best time in a day is
at dark, pitch black skies, you're admiring it.
Limos are black laced with tinted black windows,
no matter the complexion, theres only one in shadows.
BLACK...
12 inch records black, black is best at music.
funeral days, dark past,
white and black makes us joint to grey,
intergrated keys on the piano, blacks ontop of whites, (never)
buttons on a telephone, push them.
streets you ride home, black with white lines.
Still won't admit it?
Won't touch or feel our skin,
but you go salons and stay in suns,
to get this color on your skin.
Originator of jewelry, (ethenic)
braiding hair, (african styling)
hair products, (black beauty)
day to day tools, (inventiveness)
even gave you a holiday, I don't hear you
complaining when you use it.
Black and white movies, not much of us leading it,
ebony and ivories, black song unite us,
vacationing in warm regions,
filled with natives possesing darker skins,
Indians dark complect, egyptians black,
first enslaved white,
color of first father not right,
first birth mother is no truth in write,
creator of both, hair of wool, no such thing on white.
Can't hide from it, can't close eyes your from it,
when you sleep in it, you sleep in black visions,
Just admit it, you can't live without it,
our color,
BLACK...... I love this color, my color, reality, somes nightmare,
and even nightmares are dark! WHOA!
