Flying Into Sunset - Jamaica Talk

I wrote this on the plane as I was flying home from DC...

Flying into Sunset

The gray cotton candy gauze pulls
taught across the horizon
The burnt red orange
Slices the darkness

From the small oval window
A glimpse is all you get
One frame at a time, holding you back from it’s enormity
As you fly, unwillingly

Into sunset

The sunset is too much for the eye and heart to behold
In its entirety
A glimpse is all you need for now

And everyday
Another glimpse
Until the horizon is revealed

WOW... sure does... So i guess I captured that view pretty accurately... Did you 'get' the poem????? It's obviously a metaphor and much more obscure...

I totally "get" your poem. Just that the first thing that came to mind was my picture I took on the way home from Boston. You're SO like me, writing things on the airplane going home.

I have a feeling I'm gonna have some deep poetry to write on my way home from my next trip to JA.

I'm SURE that you will... Yah... I was so struggling on the way home... Haven't been in that "space" for a long time. Although it's quite different this time around... in a good way. But all I could do was write and write and write... because otherwise I was going to explode.
