You’re traveling through another district, a district not only of sight and sound but also of poverty.
A journey into an infamous facility whose boundaries are that of salvation. That’s the signpost up ahead-your next stop, the School Zone.
Meet Shawn a high school senior
Envisions himself a future pro player
Talented but he’s academically inferior
An athletic scholarship will be his savior
Never worried about his bad behavior
To his peers felt he was their superior
Making touchdowns was the only criteria
Portraying that invincibility exterior
Yet always talking through his posterior
To him his future couldn’t be any clearer
Meet lexus she’s a freshman diva
Blessed with a vivacious young figure
She’s the most popular cheerleader
In her mind she’s an urban fashion designer
An after school-practicing stripper
The math teacher’s jail baiter
Fresh meat for the veteran niggaz
Seeking that love she could hold forever
So she became an all around teaser
Thought she found it in a football player
Now both worlds were about to collide
In a place somewhere on the south side
A place no one stops they just drive by
An institution known as Central High
Shawn is the captain of its football team
Lexus is the next home coming queen
Both met intimately under the bleachers
Some say condoned by the teachers
You see Central was almost state champs
Administration thought to loosen the clamps
Shawn’s future was all in his hands
Lexus already started making plans
But what these young kids didn’t know
Things turn quickly in the place
We call the school Zone
