Why won't you give us a chance?
Is it because you don't love me?
or maybe because your scared.
The life you've yearned for your whole life now evokes a sense of fear.
Maybe you don't trust me,
Maybe you don't think I'm real.
But deep down inside you know that with my love your heart can heal.
Is it because I make your heart skip a beat or two.
Or are you stricken with anxiety when I tell you "I love you."
I know that you've been hurt, I know that you've been deceived.
Just know that I'm the woman in your heart and I will never leave.
We share so much together, I know you're my best friend.
You were made for me and I for you; that will never end.
In fact we have so much to look forward to, our journey's just begun.
Why won't you give us a chance? you know I am the one.
I'm not being conceited, nor egotistical as you say.
I know that in the future we'll walk hand in hand someday.
So why won't you give us a chance? Give our love the chance to soar.
I anticipate growing old with you and loving you more and more.
But you have another agenda, you say " let's wait patiently."
You believe that love cannot be forced and must come naturally.
In fact, I do agree with you; you're thinking vey smart.
But what if while you're waiting, another man comes and steals my heart.
Should I then wait for you and put my life on hold.
Don't get me wrong, "I love you," but this game is getting old.
It's been going on for years now and I've endured so patiently.
I humbly wait for you to realize that you belong to me.
But what if you never do, this often makes me wonder.
What if you fall for someone else, this outcome makes me ponder.
In my heart I still believe, that God made you for me
But I know the time has come for me to face reality.
How long can you move from woman to woman like this is some sort of fantasy.
I cannot force our love on you, you're right, it must come naturally,
but why lose time with the one in your heart when it was unecessary.
So I ask again, Why won't you give us a chance? I hope you'll answer someday.
When life throws us the obstacle of love all we can do is pray.
And so I pray to God to enrich my life with joy and happiness
and if it's meant to be with you I'll gladly accept it.
But if in God's will my love was meant to be with another man,
I pray that he'll eagerly embrace giving our love a chance.
