Okay lets not turn this into a big joke thread. Would anyone seriously be into trying to plan an ETJ get-together? The reason I say "up for" it is because it would take a lot of staying power. There's no guarantee any of us would still be here a year down the road to participate but its possible.

Other boards do this regularly and it works...I don't wanna mention any other forum names here but it happens.

All it would really take is to pick a date, a location and save some money. I'm sure the rest could work itself out.

Well since this is about Jamaica, why not come here? The other board I know does each year and has a good turnout. They find a place to accomodate 20-25 people for an evening get together. Then there are other activities planned for the week, like a picnic, a gathering at a jerk center, a day at the beach, etc. I have made lasting friendships with peeps from the one I attended. I was gone for the one this year.

I thought about JA but also would consider other locations since Jamaica is seriously the most expensive place I could possibly go from Canada!

Even if it were in a central state or something. I know that "other" board does it and it works. Why can't we?

Why selfish?? All options are open at this point. We'll have to see how this thread develops, pick a place and a date. Then we'll see who's actually still around.

a get-together would be nice. for me, getting to florida would cost just as much as getting to jamaica so you'll know that's where i'd rather be but i understand that it's not so easy for others to get there. i'd hate to be the one to say "i'm in" and then end up reneging. i've been guilty of that before. (right jc? lol)

so let's throw out a tentative date and place and see where it goes from there. we may have more success if the date coincides with another carribean event (ie. carnival, independence, hero's day, etc.) folks are more likely to travel around holidays right?

i would consider canada ,new york or miami only coz its on the way to jam! better still head out here to australia, coz we make things happen down under!!!!!!! either way it will cost zillions of money for me!!
