Re: Sting 2003

News reports say Sting=Fling. It seems the promoters did the usual thing of inciting the artists to make a "clash". "Smart" Vybz Cartel decided to hit at Ninja Man. Now tell me, Ninja Man is going nowhere but to Court, Prison and a Mental Institution, why take on somebody who has no career left and nowhere to go?.

That helped excite the crowd, or at least certain sections of the crowd. Then they learnt that Bunty would not perform. Seems Bounty left after seeing what was happening and knowing what was going to happen. Maybe somebody with teeth will shut down Sting. Promoters who create mischief should be fined and suspended or banned from getting city permits.

Re: Sting 2003

Kicking at them till my pampers fall off.

The promoters are in it to make money. They pay people to provide the entertainment. Have the promoters mentioned they will be paying all medical expenses for those injured?. You know the injured have the right to sue them?(even for the shoes lost).
Ask the question, why would an "artiste" want to try and clash with Ninja Man; is Ninja Man ranked in the top ten of DJ's now?. No I think not, but the clash is considered "entertainment". They promote it (believe it or not). The best person to clash with is Ninja. He has nothing to loose.

No artiste or promoter owns Jamaican music and culture, they use it however to make a living via entertainment. When they de-value our culture we all pay the price. The promoter makes the most profit from the whole excersize. Start pincing his/her pocket. They learn pretty fast.

Re: Sting 2003

that's true samba but the same goes for producers, studio owners and managers, they all get the most out of our entertainers.
The patrons are the one who should wise up, after the event they are sing their cuda shuda wuda's after they almost lose their lives

Re: Sting 2003

Bounty Killer, whose non-appearance triggered a prolonged bottle-throwing incident at last Boxing Day's Sting concert is charging that the promoters, Supreme Promotions, were the ones behind the clash between Ninja Man and Vybz Kartel, which ended in a stinging on-stage fistfight.

http://www.jamaicaobserver.com/lifes...NTY_KILLER.asp

It has been reported that one expecting mother lost her child from this incident at "the Greatest One-Nite Reggae Show on Earth".

Bury Stng, how many times must it happen?.

Re: Sting 2003

But how can you blame the promoters for entertaining the patrons, as an individual you must know what you want to do and where you want to go. As for the lady who lost her child her medical bill is been covered, and Vybz Cartel is now behind bars for his actions

Re: Sting 2003

According to Bounty Killer he said it was all the fault of the promoters for causing the incident Is that true?

It was good that Ninja man left it up to the police. But stemu what really happened?

Re: Sting 2003

When someone decides to host a show/event/etc. he/she is taking upon him/herself the responsibility of all the patrons who come. You actualy invite them but charge them to cover your costs and make a profit. The promoter could have chosen any "wanna be famous" DJ to clash with Ninja. When the promoters start keeling th epinch in their pockets then they will wise up.

Stemsusite, explain the following .."As for the lady who lost her child her medical bill is been covered". Over to you

Re: Sting 2003

ok when patrons start to wise up and think straight then and only then will the promoters pocket be pinched, why, ok over the years the same thing has happened ie. guns go off, bottles thrown, etc but yet the patrons still go to the event. If you want to be entertained by these artist then you wait until an occassion which suits both you and your safety.

As for the lady who lost her child all or most of her medical expenses will be paid for by the promoters of the event

i am sorry that the lady was injured and so did her unborn child, but as Stem said she should not have been at such an event knowing that Sting had a reputation of been violent and rowdy. Why she never go the the Gladys Knight or James Ingram concert?

Re: Sting 2003

thank you very much, there are other means of entartainment which is far less violent than sting. For those who are interested, there's a well written article on sting at these pages http://www.jamaica-gleaner.com/glean...cleisure5.html
