Re: Hottest Club in Ja
After seeing "Shottas" I don't think I'd go to Asylum.
Is there as much violence as you see in that movie?
Which clubs have the least tourists?
I was watching some program on late night TV
and they were showing a club in JA with a bunch of tourists.
I'm not trying to party with a bunch of white people who can't dance.
I don't party with white people now,
I definitely don't want to do it once I get to JA.
I want to go to a bangin' dancehall party - fi real

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
Let me add a little to this - cuz I sound like I hate white people. LOL
I just meant - I don't want to get stuck with the kindof crowd that is dancing to techno/house music. And the drunken honeymooners and such...
After watching that party on late night tv... That looked like the worst party EVER!
I want to go to a hot party - dancehall, soca, calypso. Need some flava.

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
I understood you the first time,, and I feel your pain. Once its springbreak you'll find that rthe majority of the clubs in Negril, Mobay and Ochi will be saturated with springbreakers, but the ones in Kingston will be more yawd style right thru out due to the non-influence of tourism there.

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
Hello fellow party-ers!!! and lovers of Jamaica!!!
I went to JA for the first time in August, 2003 and stayed in Negril. I had a blast, but unfortunately did not make it to the Jungle. I was told that is the bangin' spot! I went again to ring in the New Year and stayed in Ocho. I went to Margueritaville and it is "a bar". It was okay but it was a resort sponsored party so there were a lot of the "techno" folks there. Which was cool, but I have to say that so far Negril is still #1 in the running. Melissa, you will definitely find a place to party in MoBay, and I'm with you, I like hangin' with the "people" because they have real flava, they know how to have a good a** time!!!! and are totally willing to help you have a good time as well. But as far as driving to Negril, I was discouraged but a friend in Jamaica not to drive because it's not safe. I was down for renting a car and driving to Negril to visit some friends, but he told me that I shouldn't, because I "don't know the roads". I think I would have been okay, but my friend I travelled with had doubts as well. Is it really unsafe for two females to drive in JA? Holla and let a sista' know.

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
It's not being "female" you have to worry about driving around there. It's the damn cows on the roads!! They're everywhere, and the dogs too.
When I've been there my man was actually encouraging me to drive but I just couldn't get down with the 'driving on the wrong side of the road' thang! I wanted to scream everytime he pulled out into traffic on the wrong side (for me)!!!!
Also you definitely did miss out not going to the Jungle. But there's always next time! You'll get there and you won't regret it fo sho!!!

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
Hey hey hey!!! stop banging about our roads, they are perfectly fine, just remeber to stay on the left if you are driving. Wheter you are a female or not, driving on Jamaica's roads can be tiresome and dangerous because of the stray animals, and the bad drivers. All you have to do is be a careful and cautious driver. Word of advice, if it's your first time here in JA, don't drive trust me. Ask KC why, he'll tell you.

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
because it's just not the same as in the USA, Canada, UK or other countries. Jamaica is far from organized, street signs are not the norm here, well they are doing better. Our maps aren't as deatiled as they should be some streets don't even exist on the maps they give to visitors!!! so get chauffered when you come so u don't get lost or get caught driving up a one way street especially with our 'illiterate' road hogs.

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
I 100% agree. In fact when I move over there, I will use a guide until I feel comfortable with the streets and roads. Then it will still take some doing to get used to the drivers and the left side of the road.

to all who were asking about the hottest clubs in Jamaica..well I've only been to Ochi( 6 times) and going again the end of april, but marguritaville in ochi is pretty hot, and as long as you go at night(the cruise ships dock during the day...the place is packed with tourist) it's a pretty much all local crowd, with some decent sessions...you have heard of stone love..rennisaince(sp?)..?
last june went my girl and I went down, we were able to see them both, so don't sleep on the "ville"

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
As someone told me some time ago, all jamaicans are good for is party and dance. You have heard two of jamaica's more prominent sound systems but trust me you haven't heard nothing yet

Re: Hottest Club in Ja
I went to the Jungle again last week and as usual it was bumpin'!! It seems to have gotten better since the last time I was there, except I hate when they play that techno for that half hour or so. There's no need for it.
