Have you ever been to one??

If so.... what was it like??

Do you prefer the silent Auctions or the Live Auctions??

What kind of stuff did you win or lose out on??

Ok..this was my excuse to talk of my weekend

Actually, I LOVE going to any kind of Auction, but when it's a fundraiser of sorts...I am all over it!!

This past weekend I did juss that... every year I attend the same benefit and usually leave with at least one small thing. This year was no different.

I can get carried away with Auctions though... the excitement of whether you will win what you want is a high that can be dangerous. I decided that this time I would leave before the live auction began and only partake in the silent one so I wouldn't leave broke!

As for the silent auction....Last year I went down the line of items and signed my name up on many things thinking I would get outbid ...and I was right. This year I did the same....but not so right.

Meaning, I won all but one item!

I had soo much fun and took home two different spa packages, horse back riding adventure, swim pass for the kids, & a house cleaning package!!!

Ok...It was a blast! Have any of you been to one of these before and want to share?

No, can't say that I have ever been to an auction.

Poor peepl like myself can't afford to. We go to bargain basement and Dollar stores.

Actually....you can save money on things.... even poor peeps like you can afford them.

For example.....one of the small spa packages I won cost mi only $15 and was worth $30. And the house cleaning was worth $250....mi only pay $150.

So if ur smart about it..you can get some sweet things for a very reasonable price!

I've been to both and I totally prefer the live auction! Its fun to openly outbid people in the name of a charity, I feel so good driving up the price so the cause makes more money.

That's the best part about it...you know the money is going to a good cause. Heck...some peeps were over $100 for a night of bowling...DWL

LOL the last auction I was at was supporting the Jamaican-Canadian Association and the price of the HUUUUGE bottle of Appleton went well over $200 (I think they only retail for about $120). And all the artwork from Jamaican artists were raking in a haul too!

OH... I love it wen there is art available to bid on..... there wasnt much at this auction. The huge items were all vacations...but mi didnt have that kinda money this time.
