I'm starting this thread to post all that's Jamaican in Calgary, instead of creating new threads for every event.

In a couple hours I'm going to work at this event, I'm looking forward to it. Will wear my Jamaica shoes and take pics to post later.

JamCan - Let me know when there is an event happening AFTER tax season! Calgary isn't so far, and I would love to check something like that out!

Blue I can give you a heads up right now.

Carifest is in June, the carnival is June 10, the big party (Sunshine Festival) is June 17.
The Reggae Festival is August 19.

And since I'm a member of the Jamaican Canadian Comm. Association I'll get advance notice of other events coming. However, these are the 2 biggest ones of the summer.

Okay kids I went to Carifest yesterday and it was a total bomb. Its been raining for about 2 weeks here and the event pretty much got rained out with the exception of about an hour. No pictures to be taken. Booohooo..

Except THIS little ray of sunshine!!! I'm totally going and pretty hyped about it because NO good artists ever come here!

Okay I'll be gone all day and night. Its Reggae festival time! I'm gettin my drink on, enjoying the day, serving up the likka, and try to out-do my second place in last year's dance contest.

A little late for a weave but I been watching some clips of Dutty Wine. So if Calgary even KNOWS that song yet I'll be sure to be up there doin it.

Okay so the after-party kinda sucked, there was no dance-off this year....hence no chance for me to overthrow last years winner. All they played was strictly reggae.

On the other side of the coin, the selectah reminded me of Urban's woman....SHE was a white gyal! I was surprised.

Okay, I know this is early - but if we could only make it to one of these events, which would you recommend??
