Thanks for all your comments guys. I learned a lot.

But I why do we guys get a bad rap when all some of us are trying to do is 'break the ice'? All INITIAL communication isn't really a pick up line... but is just that - 'INITIAL contact'

Well, women like a confident man and someone who we think is genuinely interested in us, not one who is running lines all night trying to catch a fish! lol
