Not true in jamaica.
As HT suggested, the term "Coolie" denotes someone of visible East Indian persuasion.
It IS true that it was an offensive term used to refer to Asian laborers; but the term was also used (and even still today in Jamaica) towards East Indians, with no decadence intended.
