Re: Newbie alert! Another one just landed.
I may get a slap on the wrist for this but there are enough Mods on this site who should get involve in threads such as those. Not many people understand what posters are like and if a new member become offended by something or someone on the board I think it is the Mods or Admin responsibility to give some sort of balance to the conversation, I notice non said anything on that thread, just as none has said anything in this one. .. Just an observation.

Re: Newbie alert! Another one just landed.
I think I must be reading a different thread........I haven't read anything in that thread to warrant the comment quoted from the site, does one post represent "the people" on here?

Re: Newbie alert! Another one just landed.
That's an issue on most forums not just this one. 1/100 new people will actually stick around some admins do not what to risk beating up an existing member who might not be overly warm to a new person. Also his first post did(before the edit) look just like all of the other spam that gets deleted daily

Happy reading.

Thanks for the information, Alex.
Does anybody know of a book dealing with the role of women in Jamaican society - especially women of achievement? Nanny (18th Century) - Mary Seacole (19th Century) - Portia Simpson-Miller. There must be many more Jamaican women of achievement, but little information on the web.
I wonder if anybody has read this article on Jamaican women (not sure whether to copy and paste the article or simply post the link. I'll just post the link this time A Tribute to the Loud, Feisty, Obnoxious Jamaican Woman (Jamaica)
Although a fairly quiet reserved little dude myself, I happen to like big loud Jamaican ladies but would never think of any JA woman as being obnoxious
If I'm being too long-winded with my posts, please let me know.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Re: Newbie alert! Another one just landed.
The Jamaican Woman: A Celebration captures the spirit of the Jamaican woman in her rise from obscurity to towering heights in every sphere of the professional world, in Jamaica and the international community. This highly pictorial biographical treasury provides historical accounts as well as current resource information on some 200 of Jamaica's outstanding women dating back to the 20th century, mapping their involvement in the areas of high academia, politics, business and management, science, law enforcement, visual and performing arts, sports, fashion and beauty.
Endorsements:
"A beautiful book and a commendable representation of Jamaica's gender power." Professor Rex Nettleford, Vice Chancellor, University of the West Indies
"An excellent piece of work which shows how competent are Jamaican women and how diverse their range of occupations and activities. Bravo!" Angela King, Assistant Secretary General, United Nations
"The book is a remarkable record of Jamaican history. Joanne Simpson took on a labour of love to document these special Jamaican women, in tribute to the good women in her life, beginning with her own mother. That a woman should celebrate excellence in womanhood, is a testament to a spirit of wholesome giving, of humility and of respect for accomplishments of others"...Barbara Blake, Jamaican Writer and Media Specialist
"The Jamaican Woman: A Celebration provides a pillar of support, not only for Jamaican Women, but also all other women...Simpson goes all out in her quest to highlight the indelible contributions of her sorority. And dare we say, mission accomplished!" Jeanne Toussaint, SHE Caribbean magazine.

No...that thread was inspired becuase i observed that some ppl like ECO and SHY CUTIE GIRL were allowed thier links but others were not. I observed Jamcan removing links from SEVERAL ppl post (this preson could have been one) =IDK...it was just and observation and so i asked WHY? was a valid question.

I checked and it clearly says that Eco and is on the "can use links list".
No, I took offense because I was a poor example of what you were going after. When you witch hunt, make sure you are actually hunting witches.
I still think you are charming

Re: Newbie alert! Another one just landed.
but that is where you are wrong! i was not witch hunting...merely observing!
and i wasnt "going after anything"...just asking a question based on my observations.
im a long time member here and ANYBODY that knows my "character" will tell you that i dont lie. If i was hunting, searching, digging and just plain tryna cause trouble, I READILY ADMIT IT!---cuz i do enjoy it.
but in this case...sorry to dissapoint you....i was really just observing and asking!
so being as though you are fairly new to ETJ, can you tell others how to get on the "can use link list"---outside of being jamcans freind? (now here is the trouble maker in me) LOL
and i thank you kind sir...i find your sarcasm dipped in honey most attractive...(really, and truly)

LMAO, I never in my life sugar coated anything until you showed me how to honey coat. I would like to thank you for being such a great mentor.
I was able to get on the elite "can use link list" by following the sites TOS's while kissing some major @ss. Actually I didn't kiss any @ss but I thought you might like to hear that.
There are 5 admins/mods on this site (give or take), I doubt being a friend with one of them would let me or anyone else get around the rules with the others. Maybe I paid them all off? Maybe it was blackmail?
I used the witch hunting term since I thought you could relate to it since you "stir the pot" in some threads.
Hey are you single?
