Re: Laying my cards on the table:
Welcome to ETJ,
I hope that you will find this forum as fulfilling or rather, MORE fulfilling than your last. Here on ETJ , we are a composite of Jamaicans (living at home as well as North America and Europe), Americans, Canadians, British, Africans and other West Indians. With our diverse cultures and (often strong) opinions we chat, laugh, cry and (sometimes) fight like siblings in any traditional family, but very cohesive in our love for everything Jamaican. Please join our family by first telling us a little about yourself: Country of origin, favorite points for discussion, etc ![]()

Re: Laying my cards on the table:
Well I have no siblings to speak of - but I have had the same wife for the last 32 years and together we raised two boys who are now out in the work force. Our oldest son is a baking chief in Nanimo and our youngest son cuts the legs off cow carcasses as they go down a production line in Alberta Canada. My favorite topic would be my family – my Country - trying to get a chuckle or two and Merry Christmases. Cheers! |

Re: Laying my cards on the table:
He has been there 3 years too long. He and his gal “had” to leave Vancouver Island in search of work and found it in Alberta. Now that the Island has a booming economy we hope to see them soon. |

Re: Laying my cards on the table:
I live on Vancouver Island BC in a small town called Nanoose Bay.
Nanoose was once the Aboriginal word for friendly and the town folk here are still pretty friendly. I used to live in Coquitlam BC and coquitlam used to be the Aboriginal word for – many red fish but that’s not so true anymore because the salmon stock is dying off at an alarming rate. |

Re: Laying my cards on the table:
This is really weird! I lived in Coquitlam for 2 years while going to college. I thought you meant you were from a Caribbean island since you mentioned getting to know Jamaica because you also live on an island.
What a small world.

Re: Laying my cards on the table:
It’s a very small world. I used to paint the rides at Playland Amusement Park in Vancouver – maybe you’re the person who sat on my freshly painted bench. Cheers!
