Hi All!!

I originally posted in the Wha gwan and only now realiazed I should have posted a new thread to introduce myself... sorry.

As I said, I've been feeling the need for a tropical breeze for a while so I decided to plan a trip to Jamaica. I was last there in 1984 when my ship, the USS Iowa (BB 61) pulled up to MoBay and I fell in love with "everything Jamaican." I figured I better go back now while I can still enjoy it before I get too old and have to do so from a wheelchair or something. And, besides, if Stella can get her groove back, maybe this fella can, too.

I would welcome any and all travel tips. Right now I plan to visit Mockingbird Hill Hotel, Port Royal (one of my ancestors had a daughter killed in the 1692 earthquake), and Negril. I want to see as much of the island that two weeks could allow and make many friends there. So, drop a line or two. Hope to hear from you all.

Yes, have an open heart and accept the culture as it is. You will be in a foreign country, it is definately not the USA. Be happy to be so fortunate as to be able to have this adventure. Enjoy, relax and expect only good. Be generous and not afraid. Share the wealth by tipping and purchasing as much as you can afford. Be patient with all and appreciative to those who befriend you. Savor every moment, dance and swim at every opportunity. These are my tips. Let go and go with the flow. Jah loves you and Jah loves Jamaica.
