Newbie....My Name is Michelle
I've been reading everything on this site for weeks and finally decided to ask some questions of my own. My BF is from Kingston and I am getting ready to visit for my first time in Nov. Can anyone give me insight on St. Elizabeth?? We will be spending part of my time there visiting his fam......

Re: Newbie....My Name is Michelle
You will need to expand, how did you meet all that! Lots of us have had the LD, so know where your coming from. St Elizabeth is beautiful though, I myself and my husband lived on the North Coast in the mountains from Ochi.

Re: Newbie....My Name is Michelle
Thanks for all the great welcomes....as for details (damswell) - My girlfriend has a BF in JA and has travelled back and forth alot. She and I were on the phone during one of her visits and her BF's best friend wanted to talk to me...as the story goes....we have talked to each other every single day since then with few exceptions for more than a year...even if it is just to say hello and just check to see if eachother are okay....trust me, the calling card bill on both ends is ridiculous....if you have a LD, you know what I mean

Re: Newbie....My Name is Michelle
Thanks JG, I do have a question for you....I read one of your responses to someone esle that it can take 6 months just for the Fiance visa??? My ex is from Kenya and he was already here when I met him but we had to file for visa extention for him to stay until we decided what to do...it only took about 6 weeks....is there a reason it takes so long and did you do the paperwork yourself or did you have a lawyer???? HELP PLease...

Re: Newbie....My Name is Michelle
It took so long cause the US government, combined with the Jamaican government is S L O W. And, that is with us really on top of it and pushing them along.
Go to the family and relationships part of this site and look under my long thread about all this.........How do you bring someone to the US.....I just bumped it to the top for you.
No lawyers. They charge you the big bucks to do what you can do yourself.

Re: Newbie....My Name is Michelle
I agree, Lawyers are just for the money they dont actually help your case. We didn't use a lawyer in Canada either. I think people who use lawyers have complex cases so maybe it helps them, if its straight forward always better to do your self.......save the $$
