Greetings and Question on Citizenship

Greeting to all!

So happy to find this forum and read the what's up in Jamaica.

I hope this message finds you no worse after the hurricane.

So, I'm a 45 year old white man that lives in Texas. I was born in Kingston in 1961. My father was an American engineer working on the electric utility system there and my mom's Irish. They moved to New Orleans when the job was done which is where I grew up.

My birth certificate reads Federation of the West Indies, which is as I understand the government in transition to full independence a year after my birth.

So, does anyone know if I would have lost my claim to Jamaican citizenship by excercising my US citizenship?

Thanks
