Hi my name is Ruth, and i have enjoyed reading all your threads so much that i decided to come on board! I am born and bred, and curently live in London. I say currently cause my dream is to eventually move to JA!
I am planning a trip Aug '06 to see family and that one special person in my life.. (blush, blush). I am truly crazy about JA-my family dont understand it, but my first trip was in Sept 2003 and every chance i get im out there enjoying the culture (im a country girl-St Elizabeth) the food and the sun!!
I kno you guys will have nothin but love to show me, cause the way the weather is now- i need to come in from da cold!

Are your parents from JA? If they are, how come they don't understand your feelings for wanting to be there? If it's any consolation though,we do!!!

My parents come from JA and well, lets not go too much into the way we were raised........!!! Growing up even now, there was always stereotyping of Jamaicans, agressive, teef etc but you can find that anywhere in the world. I also guess when they went out there, their experiences were not as good as mine.

I am a country girl too!! my parents live in Mandeville and my Husband lives in Christiana!! I love St Elizabeth!! especially Likkle Ochie fi di best fry fish, bammy and festival in di world!!!!
