I'm New Here...Calimaican - Jamaica Talk

I'm new here also. I'm from Southern California. I've never been to Jamaica, but I'm home sick for it. I'm Part Jamaican, Bahamian, Native American, and African American. Are you guys actually from Jamaica? I would love to experience Jamaican food in my area...know of any spots? Okay, I guess I'll hush now.

I am not from JA or from Cali but I can tell you a great place to get curry chicken or Ackee an salfish in the Bronx, NY.

Welcome to ETJ and enjoy..... No I am not Jamaican but my husband is. I was also wondering if you like to cook? I love to cook Jamaican food and can cook it very well. It's just all in the seasonings and adding a whole lot of love.

Welcome MsMix. I am not Jamaican but live in Jamaica most of the time. I have a Sig Other that is Jamaican. I have family in Oregon where I came from so we are neighbors when I return to the US. Have a great time on ETJ and everyone is welcome here.

Welcome! I was born in Jamaica and have visited Cali I love it there. But hope you enjoy the site it's fun. If you ever visit NY I can surely hook you up with some restaurants

Welcome Aboard, MsMix. I was born in Jamaica, but grew up in NY since I was an infant. So I guess you can call me a Jamerican. I've made it a personal mission to embrace my roots as much as I can because my entire family now lives in the U.S., since my Mom brought them all here. So I don't have any family members left in Jamaica to hang with when I go there. (Thank God for the ETJ crew! That means EverytingJamaican Crew)

I know a great Jamaican restaurant in S. Florida if you're ever in this neck of the woods.

hi msmix! i was born in southern california too. oceanside to be exact. now i'm living in indiana. you've got an interesting heritage there. and i thought i was really mixed up being filipino, irish, and cherokee indian but you got me beat!

whereabouts do you live? i left cali when i was 12 but i distinctly remember that it was an incredibly diverse area. you could find everything under the sun there. surely there's got to be a jamaican restaurant in your area.

ever been to jamaica?

I'm glad you wondered upon our lovely site and joined....

I am half Jamaican and can't help you out with restaurants in Cali....I'm still looking for a good Jamaican restaurant in VA! There are a couple spots here that serve good Jerk chicken, etc. but no real Jamaican restaurants....

So I guess whenever you decide to travel within the US....everybody on ETJ can recommend a good Jamaica spot to eat
