Hello! (visiting jamaica)
Hey everyone,
Been reading this board for a few hours and saw how friendly all the people here are, this is a great community!
I'm going to be in MoBay for a week with my girlfriend in early December... it would be cool to meet some locals and see some of how the real jamaicans live and not always go to the touristy places... Any suggestions on how to go about this?!?
Anwyay, keep partying people,
Later...

Re: Hello! (visiting jamaica)
welcome cysurflex. i'm glad to know that you think highly of our community.
where in mobay will you be staying? i've found that it's very easy to meet people in jamaica and many of them will be more than happy to show you around or tell you what kind of places to check out. the people you interact with at the hotel may even be your best bet since they deal with tourists regularly. they are employed by the hotel they are less likely to try to take advantage of you without risking their jobs. just ask the bartender, housekeeper, or bellman about what you're interested in doing and they'll hook you up. and be sure that if they take care you, you take care of them in return. a tip is a great way to show your gratitude!
