Going to Negril in March and staying at pointe village just curious on if anyone has stayed and also I am big on ganja and want discreet purchase.
I have read tourist traps on purchasing and wonder the do's and dont's what to look out for and best way to be discreet laid back and safe. Also I want to see the venture outside of the resrt some in a safe manner yet see and expereince Negril to fullest. Anyone stayed at pointe village if so your take on it and any suggestions tips and to make the most out of the trip please post thanks.Erie

Cool thanks I see thats your favorite resort it seems. I am heading down march 29 so hopeully ill miss spring breakers. Hopefully there will be some cool locals on resort with some ganja

If you're really looking for ganja you won't have trouble finding it there! Although I don't touch the stuff I know who does and where they are!

Hi! I've been to pointe village...to be honest...was disappointed with beach access and with food, bars etc. Loved the room and the view tho! I've stayed many places in Negril from Couples to Grand Lido to BeachComber on 7 mile...I'd stay at the Grand Lido is a second if I could afford it again...But highly recommend the beach comber for a smaller resort, intimate and better value for the money. Pointe Village was disappointing to me!

Also.. If you want to venture off the property and want a trustworthy guide...ask around town for a van driver named Dave. He owns his own van and sometimes does pickups for Kuyaba ( a great place to eat--but pricey!) I've trusted him with my entertainment and my life (have you driven in Jamaica????---I wouldn't recommend it) many times and he's wonderful! Tell him Michelle from California sent you!

Trip was awesome. To me Point Village was awsesome because of its not soo touristy too much . Alot of locals live there. Only thing I saw it seemed the help there didnt get to eat or take breaks alot of them wanted me to get them food One scuba instructor was hiding behind tree eating 2 tuna salad plates fast as possible. One of the life guards sean was awesome who works at the pool he got us a cab ride with his brother who was going to let it be free all we had was visa card. One suggestion take small bills 10'5' 1's dont rely too much on getting change back from purchases or in negril only very few ATMS and most of them are broke except for Nova scotia near westend. Some locals will try to take advantage of not know Ja exchange rate. Lear exchange rate I had to ask front desk or in MOBAY exchange some dollars. It changes daily but most locals dont go by it and usually stick to a standard rate. Some people will try to rip you off but tourism is their only means of survival for most. But overall it rocks.

i've been to point village thats my fav. hotel. my uncle performs there sometimes. he's a singer. watch out for him, his name is Jerry Jackson. if you heard of him, tell me.
the food at point village is sweeeeeeeet. its like the best although its small

Yes actually I used some tips and they worked. I am addicted to the Cliffs now and Jamaica. I will post pics as soon as I get them uploaded along with some avi of the jump. The sunset is awesome. Also the view of hedonism is too

We knew you'd get addicted to Jamaica...was there ever any doubt? You're probably planning your next trip already!
Were you able to locate any of those "people"? I'm sure you didn't have a hard time with that anyways. Can't wait to see your footage! I'm leaving in 4 days and Tia's there right now so we should have lots of stuff to view in the near future.
