Re: rasta colors

Respect to the Ites, Gold & Green. But they are pan-African colours as already mentioned in this thread, not "Rasta" colours strictly. True Rastafari is IN the heart and IN the head. Not worn on the body like a badge or flag.

when african americans were stolen from africa i say stolen because it was not by choice, anyway everything was mixed up tribes and lang etc and we were sold from our mothers and fathers so some history was lost. it was a jamaican marcus garvey who gave african americans the flag color and meaning. RASTA COLORS ARE RED GOLD GREEN./ or pan african colors giving by marcus garvey
just reading thru the old threads and this is somethhing intersting to me.

Re: rasta colors

I am a mosaic artist, I made a few Rasta pieces for my friend, with (from the top) RED, Gold & Green. and he told me that they were in the wrong order He said it should be Green, Gold & red. I have just started a new project of a Rasta girl, and I am hesitant to glue the glass down because, after reading the posts here I am totally confused.
Please does anybody know?

Red, Yellow, Green are the Ethiopian colors. They stand for what everyones been saying. Also the Lion of Judah used to be on the ethopian flag.
Black was added by Marcus Garvey & the Jamaican people.

Depends on the Rasta whom you talk to.
Most Rastas beleive red should not be at top cause they dont beleive in floating in blood. My grandpa told me this.

Thats incorrect, the historical colors are Green, gold yellow and black. they all stand for some very amasing things you should should go read the rastafarian bible.
