Air Jam is usually the cheapest for me as I can drive to Houston for the direct flight. I have flown AJ once from Dallas - it was a charter. No problem flying with them from either location and always look first to them whenever I am shopping for a flight. The flights are smooth and convienent.

Re: Air Jamaica versus other airlines
I hope they will put the direct Phoenix flight back, right now AJ costs $775 to Jamaica.
![]() Delta gives me a cheaper fare ($501) until I switch planes in Atlanta, where I will travel on AirJ. I have have had ok flights on American especially on the Miami or New York to Jamaica leg of flights, I find their attendants quite down to earth and fun. AirJamaica is the fun in the sky though, but some flight attendants I experience were quite ****y as if their pretty colors could pay my health insurance. Please.

Re: Air Jamaica versus other airlines
Man you guys have all got it made with those cheap airfares! I'm moving to Florida just for the airfares alone! Forget Mad! LOL
It's almost impossible to find a flight from here for less than $1000 unless you REALLY luck out.

Re: Air Jamaica versus other airlines
I prefer Air Jamaica. The meals are pretty good (by airplane standards) and the flight that I take has always left on time. I flew Continental once - we got peanuts/chex mix and the flight was delayed by about 45 minutes. I have heard stories where people lost their luggage, etc. when flying AJ, but that has never been my experience.

Re: Air Jamaica versus other airlines
The only problem I have with airJ is the lateness. Flight is never on time or always cancelled. However, I don't complain. Anything to keep me longer in Jamaica.
AirJ is an awersome airline to me. The staff are friendly and helpful. They offer FOOD, real food like chicken and rice and dessert along with Grace Juice. NOt nuts and chips and can soda. The people on the flight who travel are friendly and the talk to you on the duration of the flight. They clap when landed and I know they have the anticipation of a safe flight. I love Air J better than all the rest. The seats are comfortable adn you get enough room space. I never heard of any terroists acts on ther either. |

I like AirJ because flying from Baltimore tickets are reasonable. I can
get a ticket for like $395 sometimes on sale. So they are good when it come to that and BWI is pretty good to fly out of. I like the direct flights with non-stop for me is the greatest. I like not having to change planes. Done that with some other airlines to Jamaica and needless to say I try never to do it again. I've used them alot and they took excellent care of my son traveling back and forth for the summers since he was very young. But the last time he brought back some mangoes for me they took them at the airport. But that was customs in the Airport and I was pi$$##, but customs is to blame and not AirJ. So I have no beef with AirJ their a good airline to me. I never had any really major incidents with them, but I have had some with a few other airlines..

Re: Air Jamaica versus other airlines
Just my little two cents...we've found that AJ is very accomodating to children. They usually (ie: off season/non-peak) have children's fare for 1/2 of adult cost (when flying with an adult) and have an excellent unaccompanied minor program which we checked into (but haven't used yet). They also have children's meals if you call to request it (if you have ever traveled with kids you will know how helpful this can be!). Otherwise, I've found I kinda like "being there already" when I get on the plane, haven't found that with other carriers. On a less pleasant note, (being from NYC,) AJ is also an unlikely target, nobody's got any grudge with Jamaica.
