Sometimes ppl (mods) on this site claim to be tolerant but really you are only tolerant of youselves and those who think like you. Although I think miss "Wise Woman" is INSANE and SAD, what she said is not exaclty a banning offense just cuz you have had enough of her, and you didnt like what she posted. Mods are suppsed to be objective and are not SUPPOSED to use the "power" of being a MOD to your own purpose.

Wise Woman, I dont think you are very wise at all....im not trying to hurt your feelings but its nothing wise about holding on to your misery...you really need to let it go. you aint the only one been taken for a fool, not the last, but you need to get over it. (not being mean) (swear)

maybe i stand corrected here but its my belief that Mods serve a purpose to ban folks that majority finds to be offensive. i do not believe JC banned WW for her 'own' purposes but because she was requested to do so by many. its perfectly fine for there to be debates and disagreements on a site...we are only human after all and cannot ALWAYS be expected to be fluffy balls of love and lust towards each other...however when you are degraded, debased and dehumanized the line must be drawn...we all know when its taken TOO far and WW did just that.

Well put Lilith. I too had requests to reign in WW because she joined the site and posted nothing but offensive stuff toward J'can men. Believe me, if mods simply banned who they didn't like, there'd be a few people gone in an instant. As a member I could say alot of things that I can't as a mod, for reasons of not appearing objective. When a member says offensive things that make the majority of the other members uncomfortable, that is when the mods must step in with a warning and then an 86. Making ETJ an unpleasant place to be for the general membership is a "banning offence," make no mistake.

If everyone could be happy all the time then no one would ever disagree.

I dont agree with her posts, but just think that she had the right to post as she felt. I thought also that people that didnt want to see her post could "ignore" her....I dint read all of her post (i found her sad) so maybe I missed the "dehumanizing" behavior.

Yes everyone does have the right to voice their opinions, but when it is the same thing over and over again, and in such a maner as Wisewoman was putting it out there, a line has to be drawn.

I have been told that I may qualify to apply for citizenship in Jamaica by being married to a Jamaican wife. Is this true or will I have to live as a Permanent Resident for several years first? Also, I was told to get a "form R1" but neither the embassy or the NYC Consulate seems to have one. Anybody know where I can get it?
I didn't read most of the threads because it was all about Wisewoman, so I don't know if your issue was resolved. If not, I can get an R1 form for you no problem. I just left the Jamaican embassy getting citizenship for my son. I inquired about the processing time for citizenship by marraige and they say it is currently taking 1-3 years. It is quicker if you are living there. It cost $120 US to apply. PM me and I'll fax you the info.

True enough... but being a broken-record doesn't necessarily warrant a banning... we have enough of those around--check out the religion and faith forum, lol. But if that broken record is raising the ire of the majority of our members, well, it's a case where the "needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one" and.... seeya. It's just like starting fights in a bar--the bouncers don't give a rat's @ss why you're fighting or who's right, if there's trouble, get out. Ducani has made this clear to the mods.
