hi i am a us citizen and will be getting married in February in Jamaica to a Jamaican man and wanting to move to Jamaica with my husband in july i have child so i would like to know all the steps of things i have to o and how do i get her registered in school thanx and is there any thing i can do in advance before i move there

You need to be aware of the area you are living in and start from there. Schooling is a matter of registering if they have the space. You may prefer a private school, but there are 'regular' schools just as good.

In all honesty your man should be able to inform you about all this as he should have some knowledge of the local area(s) you would be considering. If you are moving in July that is prob the best time obviously with school holidays, so your child would be starting a full academic year.

When you go to get married you could probably get your questions answered then...

if there is ant on here that has been threw the sam situation as i am about to go threw please respond . i thank all other replies but just telling me to ask him is something i already have done and he is looking about and this is my way of looking about it

i'm about to go thru the process next month, so i'll have more to add then... but as far as i understand it, unless you want to put her in a gov't run school (which is essentially considered the most basic level), you need to confirm space and pay the registration and any other school fees... for fully government schools i'm sure you'd have to provide some proof of jamaican citizenship or residency...

i will know more soon tho...
