Cost Of Education For 12 year old

Hi

I am looking to move back to Spanish Town in a few months. I was born there but have not lived there for over 30 years. Can someone please advise me what I can expect to pay for my sons education. Ihave heard that Kingston College is a good school but again I am not sure how I go about getting admission. Also is there any government assistance for those on low incomes? Many thanks in advance.

Re: Cost Of Education For 12 year old

i'm not sure on the fees to kingston college, was looking into belair in Mandeville and i think it was 45000J per term?? i could be mis-remembering... but i think it was close... i would think kingston college to be somewhat comparable, but don't quote me... that's not factoring books, uniforms, lunches, boarding (if applicable), transportation (it's a good 20 min drive from spanish town) and other extras...

as for government assistance, no, not for kingston college, it doesn't exactly work like that... if you can't afford the pricier schools, you go to one that is less... there are schools that run around under 5000J a term... kingston college is probably one of the pricier on the island... there are other options that are still respectable, but not as much...

Kingston College is a High School in Jamaica which i used to attend. Its a great school with quality students and produces excellent students. In order to get admission u have to go to their main office to register ur child. Well it might be too late now as its late August and most admissions are already in. But give it a try still in case. I think the PATH programme is a system in which the Goverment places to assist those on low income.
