Looking 4 Suggestions

Hello I am new to this site. I've been reading some posts on here, bare with me. Just wondered how difficult it is for a Canadian to move and work in Jamaica. If you have any suggestions it would be very much appreciated. I know that people have mentioned to work in Jamaica you should have something to offer that most ppl don't have. If I don't have something like that to offer, are there jobs that anyone would suggest? Thanks for any feedback, I know this is very general but I have to start somewhere.

Welcome Holly. I think nursing or medical is probably one of the "necessity" type jobs that would make it easier for you.

Re: Looking 4 Suggestions

you have to start your own business really which is a pain in the arse cos of all the red tape but jobs are very very hard to come by. im well educated, well experienced but couldnt get a job. my advice would be to spend 6 months in Canada, earn as much as you can then spend 6 in Ja looking around, making contacts, seeking business opportunities. by then you will have had a flaviour of what its actually like to live in Ja. Trust me, its a hell of a lot different than being on holiday. just do your homework. also i dont know if your male/female or have a partner to take but if your a single female - think very very carefully.

Have you contacted the Ministry of Labour yet? You need to get a work permit in order to work here. At least check out their website..I'm not on my laptop so I dont have the link handy..sorry.

: Work Permit :.:: Ministry of Labour and Social Security ::.: try this link..it should give you info about work permits
