Need help seeking employment in Jamaica

Hi I currently reside in Chicago IL and have lived here for 10 yrs since I left Jamaica. I am desperately in need of info in regards to getting employed in Jamaica. I've lived here in Chicago long enough and i'm longing to move back home to Jamaica. I have a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and is currently getting my second degree in Nursing to pursue a career as a Psychiatric Nurse. I would be more than happy to work anywhere in Kingston at a job that is reputable with good enough income. The job doesn't necessarily have to be in the mental health field or Hospital setting just something to get me on my feet until I can work in the health field. I would greatly appreciate all the advice, response, link up etc. Thanks in advance

Why don't you look at some humanitarian work? Here in Canada we have an agency called CUSO that places people with your abilities into jobs in Jamaica, Kingston to be exact. Although this organization only places Canadians they say right on their website that they have affiliate organizations all over North America. Why don't you check www.cuso.org. Its a lot of reading but you could contact them and find out who their partners are. Its a start.

Re: Need help seeking employment in Jamaica

Dear Petegaye, you sound homesick.

I know how hard it is to find work on an "island".

How much have you gone on the internet to look at what's there? Since you're a professional why don't you write some letters to the country your interested in? JAMAICA! Act like an outsider professionaly, meaning maybe there's a way to re-introduce yourself to your homeland with your skills. There's all kind of websites with the info you're lookin for, just gotta know how to look.
I know tho... it's hard.
