I'm drawing up plans for my missions hostile and it suddenly hit me what my #2 expense is going to be, concrete. I emailed JA Premix but haven't heard anything yet. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with getting concrete delivered AND pumped?

There are several reasons i'm choosing poured concrete over block. My two main reasons are time and the ability to have missions groups do the work of setting up forms (looking at using arxx forms)!

You have to be careful with poured concrete.

i read in the carabean times that there was a shortage off concrete/cement.

doesnt mean you cant get it though.i think gov repairs will come first but good luck.

Speaking of concrete...

Some little animal dug under my shed, got inside (the floor is just patio stones) and made a big pile of soil in there. I filled the hole, thinking it was just a winter thing... then this weekend found it there again! ...this time with a bunch of sh|t too. So... I mixed up a bag of cement and poured it into the hole... and under all the floor stones where the soil had been displaced. Dig through that biyaatch!!!

LOL...no, i'm not stressed... I don't let anything phase me too much. It IS MY SHED though... they can go live somewhere else. And I don't shoot animals, but I do trap squirrels because they dig up my tomatoes and flowers. I put the trap in the car and take them for a little ride about 10 miles away.

Back to the cement. Ted cannot get cement in Negril to finish the bedroom and bath on his home. He keeps in touch with the hardware company and they still do not have any. Probably Kingston and Mobay, the big cities will get theirs first. In the meantime he is doing what Jamaicans always do, going with the flow and working around the construction site.

Have you tried in St. Ann's Bay? I know my husband got some very recently. After the shortage, in fact. Or Runaway Bay.

Sorry I can't recall where. I was just so greatful to have it.
