Amityville Horror!!!

All you horror movie lovers.....DEJA, RUSSEL.....you gonna see it? I'm trying to get to see it this weekend or next.

I saw the original waaaaay back in the early 80's and it was scary then! Imagine what it could be like now with the way movies are being put out. I can't wait!

Re: Amityville Horror!!!

I have found that alot of the remakes of classic horror movies are not as scary as the originals. I think it's because these days they use so much cg and have far-fetched, magical explanations for things that there isn't the suspense. Prime example: house on haunted hill... the original still is scarier than the new one. Also... The Grudge, it would have been scarier back then because they would have hidden the ghost for longer. When you keep seeing the kid, it takes away the fear of the unknown IMHO.

Anyway, I'd like to see the new one, but I'm not holding out much hope of it being scary.

Scarier was seeing russ on the gay pride float!

Re: Amityville Horror!!!

yea thats true..but as far as the grudge goes..i think that was the ****..it still had an old skool twist to it but not showing so much guts, leaving certain things to the imagination and not over the edge with computer graphics

Re: Amityville Horror!!!

I'm kind of iffy about going to see it.I mean really I already know how it goes.My son however, really wants to see it,maybe I'll take him. I made sure he saw the original and he was scared, maybe the remake will scare him even more.

Thumbs down Re: Amityville Horror!!!

I thought the movie was horrible. The crowd in the theater was laughing at it than being scared. The book was scarier!

Re: Amityville Horror!!!

Okay I went to see it. And YES it was scary! I was laughing throughout the movie too but only because we had screamers in the audience. It was hilarious.

I'd have to say for movies with those moments that make you jump.....this one gets top scores.
