Anyone ever seen this documentary on Jamaica??

I've heard lots about it but have never taken the time out to sit and watch it. Someone just sent me a link to the online version. Its 1.5 hours so get your popcorn....I've heard its VERY good.

Shy and I watched it together awhile back and it fueled a lot of anger for us --- yes, against the US.

I don't think this documentary is slanted at all! Its cold hard facts about a struggling country. If it wasn't correct, the country wouldn't be in that kind of shape.

I think I'm gonna watch it a couple more times to get some more of the facts straight. I have a hard time grasping on to political facts....and not sure what all that stuff is. I didn't do very well in that part of high school because I have a hard time with it....but would love to learn more about it.

Like I don't get WHY the locally grown stuff (in Jamaica) was actually MORE expensive than the imported goods?? That doesn't make sense.

It has to do with the IMF loans and the agreement that Jamaica has/had with the USA.

Life and Debt is an AWESOME and eye opening documentary....makes you think twice about swimming in that beach in Ochi.

this is not only happening in jamaica, but pretty much every single 'developing country' in the world...

the thing is... these countries only 'develop' as much as the 'superpowers/IMF/world bank' let them...
