I searched for a thread on TV commercials but didn't find one - hopefully I'm not restarting a thread that's already here, but...

There is this terrible commercial for Mentos "mouth watering" gum on TV right now. WHAT is up with this commercial?!? A guy is sitting next to a water cooler and pops a piece of gum in his mouth. A few seconds later a girl walks up to him, lifts his nose up (!?!?) and starts "drinking" from his mouth...complete with sound effects.


First off... YUCK!

But second, I don't understand - if she had wanted a drink from the water cooler, she wouldn't have drank directly from the faucet, she would have gotten a cup - so why does she "drink" directly from his mouth?!?

Terrible.

Am I the only person grossed out by this commercial? Are there other commercials out there that just make your skin crawl, or at least make you wonder who let it get on TV?

I'd give my left one to be the guy in that Mentos commercial. That hot babe could drink from my mouth anytime!

I start hearing those shrieking violin chords from the shower scene in Psycho whenever that Kaboom bathroom cleaner commercial comes on the tube. It's probably a fine product and does all it's claimed to do, but why does the bearded guy hawking it have to yell? Every time he starts his hard-sell pitch, with that booming voice, I want to KABOOM right up side his head! Don't get me wrong, he looks like a real nice guy, and I'd probably go fishing with him, but why must he yell?

One I don't get is that Hanes underwear commercial where Cuba Gooding Jr is in the locker room and Michael Jordan walks in and catches him in the act of sniffing his Jockey briefs. How gay is that?

For those of you dem who didn't know, the Hanes manufacturing plant is located on the road between MoBay and Negril, not far from Lucea, if I recall correctly. Or perhaps I should say "was"--wasn't it closed not long ago?

It was Jockey and they are closed.

The one about Vonage versus the phone company. I am so sick and tired of hearing it and tired of seeing her push him little by little off the stage.

Those talking baby commercials, where the baby's mouth is photoshopped to make it appear that it's talking, drive me nutz! I'm supposed to think "Oh, how cute!" or "Oh, how clever!" but what I'm really thinking is "Oh, give me a frikkin break!" The producers of those commercials should be imprisoned for child abuse.

The guys acts like he is Gods Gift on how to pick up women. After seeing his smirky smile and "Good luck buddy" He's got a face I just wanna punch.
