I was a Sesame Street kid too. I loved Earnie, Bert, Grover, Big Bird and the Cookie Monster. My favorites though were the "Count" and Oscar the Grouch. We also had a local (Jamaican) fun and games program known as "Ring-Ding".

I also watched Romper Room, and when Miss Kate would look into her magic mirror (a hand-held mirror with the glass taken out), she would say: "I see David. I see Kathy. I see Benjamin . . . and I see Kelly." When she said "Kelly" -- I KNEW she could see ME!

Re: The TV generation...
Big daddy told me Captain Kangeroo is irritating.. Just like Barney.... I worked at a photoshop once.. they made me dress up like Barney to take pics with a little brat!! OMG I was 8 weeks pregnant and sweatin my @ss off in that suit... What a nightmare!!! Well the kid had fun.. He kept singing.. I love you... you love me.. Eventhough the kid was horribly spoiled.. the outcome was beautiful and worth all of my sweatin'. There was NO pic at all of him smiling at the camera... Only pics of him lookin at my big Barney head full of amazement!!!

Re: The TV generation...
This was my favorite song from Sesame Street.
I think it was "Susan" that would sing it: Sing, sing a song Sing out loud Sing out strong Sing of good things not bad Sing of happy not sad. Sing, sing a song Make it simple to last Your whole life long Don't worry that it's not Good enough for anyone Else to hear Just sing, sing a song. My mom would sing that, to get me to sleep.
