first off the secret serive moveds pres palmerdown to the underground bunker to meet with the joint chiefs and try to write a declaration speech to the people that while is factual wants to sound strong and calming

mass hysteria in LA, mass evacuation

jack rejoins ctu and learns he has to confront his father (who he has been estranged from for 8 years) about dealings his company has with a russian general that fahid had contacted but his father has mysteriously disappeared
ends up confronting his brother (who by the way sold him out to the chinese)

pres palmer's sister's employer, waleed, is enlisted to infiltrate a sleeper cell within his detention center

fahid is determined to detonate another nuclear device this same day (er the season)

assad is interogated at ctu proven he can be trusted and is sent to DC for a meeting with the pres

during the confrontation with his brother, jack smashes him in the face, ties him up and starts interogating him about his fathers dealings

ends with pres palmer's speech and jack bagging his brother's head with a cellophane bag

not as good as the first 4 but it lays alot of ground work
