Oh this I learned to. If your referred to as Brown that means light skinned. Even if your brown versus dark you considered Black. I was confused when my lightskinned honey referred to himslef as Brown. I was like your far from brown baby! lol Hence light woman being called brownin.
Also nicknames. Usually they are shorten forms of your original name. Michelle hence Shell or Shelly.
Well JA nicknames have no bearing on the persons name. When I was leaving the villa I got the info from the helper to call her. I met her as Dawn. On the paper she gives me her address with her name as Joan. Im like who is Joan. Shes like thats me Dawn is just a nickname.
But I found out how it happens. She introduced me to her cousin as Michelle when we were leaving she called me Keisha. I asked why and she was like Im not good with names. Im like okay I can understand forgetting but making up a whole new one not even close to my own?? lol Guess she liked Keisha better. So now I tell everyone in JA to call me Keisha!!!
