Can You Understand Sizzla? - Jamaica Talk

I began listening to Sizzla a few months ago in an attempt to understand patois. What percentage of the words in his songs can you undersatnd? Growing up I listened to punk so generally I can adapt well when people are a little on the speedy side with their words.......Sizzla is still a challenge for me.

I'm good with Sizzla.

I have a bigger problem with really REALLY fast talkers like Vybz and Black Rhyno.

Black Rhyno= 30 seconds did not understand one word YouTube - black rhyno-thug anthem

Vybz = Give me time I'll be able to understand at least 20%

I gotta tell you Eco, I think its great that you're trying to understand better. Even if you don't get it, at least you're exposing yourself to different music.

But apart from that I thought the thread was about me too - lol how narcissistic of me!!!! My name is not from Mr Kolanji that's all I will say so you can carry on with your thread. Thouhg I do love Mr Kolanji's music.

oh ok.

1. from the music i've heard i concentrate on the music rather than the lyrics - though some lyrics do stand out.
2. my name has nothing to do with him - my ex-bf was nick-named Sizzla and in Jamaica I got called Lady Sizzla. My ex-bf wasn't called Sizzla for any particular reason either - and definitely not anything to do with Mr Kolanji.

Sizzla is fine for me...but a girl I used to be friends with listened to him obsessivly so I kinda have heard his songs so much that I get it now!!
